Installation tips

There are different situations regarding matching standard door size to opening

The door fits the opening:the door is fitted to the garage opening with dimensions eg. of 2500x2125 mm. This is the optimum size of the opening for this door. Door ordering size is equal to the size of garage opening.

The door is wider than the garage opening:

it is possible to install the door to the garage in a smaller opening than purchased door size. In this situation it is necessary to check whether the size of the right and left reveal (free space RS and LS) is big enough to accommodate the excess of the door. Below you can see an example where the garage opening width is 2400 mm and the width of the door is 2500 mm. (NOTE: Some designs may look improperly in this situation).

The door is narrower than the garage opening:

it is possible to install the door to the garage with a wider opening dimension. In this situation it is necessary to reduce the width of garage opening with building materials used as a external surface of the garage. Can be used eg. polysterene with plaster in the same color as on rest of elevation. Below you can see an example where the garage opening width is 2600 mm and the width of the door is 2500 mm. After applying insulation (50 mm of insulation on both sides) we obtain the optimal width of the opening - 2500 mm. In this situation we addtionally improve insulation of door wall angles. With a soft materials (eg. polystyrene) width of the insulation may not exceed of 50 mm on each side of the door. Thicker layers can couse bending of the wall angles and tracks.

The door is higher or lower than the garage opening:

it is possible to instal the door to the higher or lower opening. Just as in variant 3 it is necessary to reduce height of the opening using materials such as on elevation, or hide the excess of the door behind the lintel. Above You can see an example where the garage opening height is 2175 mm and the height of the door is 2125 mm. After applying insulation (50 mm) we obtain the optimal height of the opening - 2125 mm. In variant 5 you can see an example where the garage opening height is 2000 mm and the height of the door is 2125 mm. Required headroom in such a situation should be at least 275 mm.
